Embellished Denim
Last year, embroidered denim was a huge trend, and it will continue to be popular throughout 2017. However, it is not the only embellishment that will be adorning denim in 2017. There will also be tassels, sequins, organza, metallic, patches and whatever else you can think of. The embellishment can be subtle, or detailing can cover the entire jean or jacket for a total standout piece that will make any outfit a big statement.

The Jean Jacket is Back
Now that the weather is finally warming up, we can pack away our winter coats, and swap them for for a lighter jacket. If you invest in just one jacket for the warmer months, make sure it is a denim one. They are super versatile, looking just as good worn over a summer dress, as with jeans in a matching or contrasting denim. A jean jacket will always be a hard working member of your wardrobe, so pay a little bit more for one that will last.

White and Ivory
The past few season have seen a real popularity for colored denim —jewel tones in the winter, and pastel shades in the summer. For 2017, it is more the absence of color that is going to be on trend. White, ivory, and sand colored jeans are set to be big, particularly once the summer arrives, so stock up on a few pairs now. They will look stunning with an oversized black tee, or off the shoulder sweater —perfect off duty style.

Rigid Vintage-Style Denim
Stretchy denim is on it’s way out for 2017, to be replaced by quality stiff and rigid denim that will last way longer than a single season. It is denim that pays homage to vintage denim of the workwear era of the 1950s, where jeans were built to last. The structured fit you get with a stiffer denim is extremely flattering, plus you never get the unsightly pulls and ripples in the fabric that you get with thin, poorer quality denim. It may cost a little more to invest in a really good quality pair of rigid jeans, but they will last you year after year.
Best for Rigid Denim: Frame
Wide Legs
The skinny and slim jean will still have its place in 2017, but it won’t be the only silhouette that will be on trend. There will be some inspiration from the past, with wide legs, bell bottoms, kick flares and bootcut jeans all being silhouettes to wear. Don’t you think it will feel so good to feel the freedom on wide legged jeans after all those summers in painted on styles?
